A Great Way to Make Money at Home Online

If you are one of the millions of people who would love to stay home and make money online, know that it is possible. The hardest part about the process is usually just finding out what you want to do, and then researching if it is in fact possible to make money at home online with whatever you have chosen.

Even if your first love is filling out surveys, you can make money. In fact, this is actually a very popular way to make money online. Surprisingly, many survey companies pay pretty well for you to simply sit at home and tell them your opinions. Filling in a bubble or writing in an answer takes very little concentration, so you can fill out surveys while watching television, listening to music, or even while your children play or sleep in the same room.

Clearly, this job does not take much education or experience, so everyone is eligible and has the power to do very well. Most survey companies pay between five and seventy five dollars per survey. So if you want to quit your regular job and stay home filling out several surveys each day, it is possible.

By now you probably realize that this is not a get-rich-quick opportunity. How many of those really work anyway though, right? This fact only proves that the survey business is not a scam. In just a few hours each day, this business will likely allow you to pay all of your bills. If you just want to do it for extra money on the side when you get home from work, you can do so as well. Even tired minds can fill out surveys while relaxing. There is not usually a limit or minimum that you have to do, so you have a lot of control over this business.

The system requirements are very minimal as you just need a computer, internet access, and a printer. This makes it definitely available to just about anyone. Such requirements mean that you do not have to go to the mall or a store like past survey takers often had to do, yet you still get paid well for just voicing your opinion. In many cases, since companies save money from operating purely online and thus not having any overhead, you actually get paid more per survey than in the past, and for less work and no travel.

Overall, if you love giving your opinion, you might as well get paid for it and make money at home online.

An affiliate network is an online media program that provides a service that includes passing around creative materials, aggregation and it shows campaign performance of tracking and reporting for different affiliate merchant and other affiliates. For the merchants they can provide tracking technology, payment processing, reporting tools and access to a bigger list of affiliates. The importance for the affiliate is so they can have access to such services as one-click applications to new merchants, reporting tools and payment aggregation.

These networks are free but sometimes unless you know where to look can be hard to find. They may run under different names like marketing solutions provider and pay per performance networks, cost per actions (CPA) or advertising networks. There are different payment options as well. They are PPL, which stands for Pay per Lead, PPS, Pay per Sale, PPA, Pay per Action or PPC, which is Pay per Click. However you decide to receive your payment is up to you.

Some of the affiliates allow webmasters access to their networks if they have a certain amount of visitors per month and others allow anyone to join. The affiliates who only allow sites with a certain amount of visitors a month because they want to make sure that by allowing you to play their ads on your site that you will make them money. If you cant bring in enough people to click on their ads then they may not allow you to use their ads.

Some of the most popular affiliate networks are ShareASale, CJ (Commission Junction) and LinkShare. In addition to having affiliate networks, your site must be worth something for people to come and visit. If you have a site with a boring subject and you arent pulling great numbers with the site alone, then having the best affiliate programs is not going to help get traffic to your site.

Affiliate Networks are great but it is just as important to have a site that is going to pay off. As we mentioned that is why some affiliates require a certain amount of traffic. You want to make money, the affiliate networks want to make money and it could be a great business all around if everyone does their part. Ads are great and they will make you money as long as you provide the right doorway.

One of the major problems of the larger cities of the word these days is crime. It appears that the larger the city the more-acceptable serious crime seems to be. If not because to the proliferation of serious crime then because the mindset of its citizens have been conditioned to accept the serious behaviour of a minority of its inhabitants.

So, how does this statement relate to infrared digital photography and the hobbyist or professional camera operator?

Not much escapes the all-seeing eye of the infrared camera of the police helicopter as it chases a carload of thieves down the freeway in the middle of the night. They will almost invariably be caught by the police when they exit their vehicle thanks to the thermal heat imaging of the helicopters infrared camera.

Likewise, your own infrared daytime photography should let no entity go unnoticed. After all youve spent a lot of time setting up the shot and composing the image with just the right light, shutter speed and aperture. Your mindset should not be to simply accept inaccuracies and faults with your photograph, but to go that extra step to eliminate them altogether.

Just like the officers in the police chopper, why would you go to great lengths to capture that final important infrared image only to decide at the last second to give up the chase?

Digital infrared photography does have a few things that should be taken into account to ensure your image is as best as could be. The following combination of items will affect your image:

Light, Dust on the infrared filter, Type of infrared filter, Exposure setting, Aperture and Movement of the subject

The digital infrared images at Photo Shop Australia http://www.PhotoShopAustralia.com/ have varying amounts of light, shutter speeds and apertures.

Low light may require longer exposure times if you cant get the aperture down low enough. This could have a dramatic effect on the final image especially if you are shooting a subject that may move even slightly.

Dust on the infrared filter will affect the image by producing blind spots in the final image. A close inspection of your infrared image in your photo editing software will reveal these. The blind spots can be smudged out of the image easily, but if you have hundreds then it may be more worthwhile to recompose the image than to edit the digital photo.

The type of infrared filter will also determine the outcome of the print. The Hoya R70 filter seems to be the best-priced for digital infrared photography.

Exposure and aperture settings can be played with until you find the best combination for your camera. But keep in mind that usually the higher the F-stop the longer the shutter speed required. So shooting a moving subject at a long shutter speed can result in unwanted effects.

Long shutter speeds (of up to 15 seconds or more) of trees on a windy day can actually produce the most spectacular effects.

Weve all seen those long exposure night photographs of cars moving along a freeway. Long exposure daytime digital infrared imaging can produce amazing results too. You just have to get creative with your camera and subjects. Think of the possibilities!

Be aware that adding an infrared filter may have serious effects on your cameras electronics or lens. Consult your cameras operations manual or manufacturer before fitting any infrared filter to your camera, and never look through an infrared or any other type of filter with your own eyes.

Let's face it: We live in an unpredictable and often scary world.

Imagine yourself in a crowded holiday parking lot. You slip into a spot, and suddenly - unexpectedly - find yourself engaged in a shouting match with a driver who was headed for the same space. Encounters like this can turn violent in seconds. Most everyone has been involved in an unexpected encounter with a stranger. But few know what to do when a fleeting contact blows up into full conflict.

Companies that have employees or customers who are victims of crime (no matter if it's on their property or not) stand to lose money in several ways. From lost workdays to fines to lawsuit payouts, companies that don't take the extra step to make sure people are safe can pay dearly. "Training helps to prevent injury, claims against employers and time away from work as well as costly verdicts against employers that have ignored these issues. Training also helps to control risk management and reduce insurance costs," notes Kimberly Elliott, CEO of Executive Defense Technology, LLC of St Louis, MO.

Organizations realize that employees who travel alone on company business, walk through parking garages to get to their cars, leave the business with money to deposit or work ate late are all susceptible to crime. From burglary to rape to murder, employees and customers can be victims of a variety of crimes. "Through education, training and planning, employees can minimize their risks to crime," Elliott states. "Simple procedures can save lives and knowledge is power! If we are not taught how to reduce our chances of becoming victims, then we become easy targets. The honest truth is we don't take action because we think that it couldn't happen to us or our business and unfortunately, it usually takes a crime to happen before people and companies wake up."

"Smoke Detector Saves Family of Seven," "Crash Survivors Wore Seat belts" the headlines read. It's heartwarming when we learn of people whose lives were saved by taking simple measures such as changing the batteries in their smoke detector during daylight savings time or buckling up. Sadly, though these same newspapers are more often filled with accounts of lives and livelihoods lost to crime and acts of violence that could have been prevented had their victims taken common-sense measures to avoid becoming targets. We don't think twice about routinely changing batteries or having our automobiles inspected because we know that our safety is at stake. Likewise, we should make yearly reviews of our corporate and personal crime prevention and safety programs a routine.

We need to make our own personal safety a value in our corporate lives. Many organizations do see safety as a priority. Yet, as humans, we know that, like life, priorities change with time. That's why safety and health must become a personal and organizational VALUE. This needs to be a Value that is believed in from the "top" down. Values, unlike priorities, do not change.

Executive Defense Technology holds several educational workshops a week to teach individuals how to avoid (and if need be - physically escape) potentially dangerous situations and boost self confidence. Individuals who participate in these workshops learn a plethora of beneficial, long-lasting skills. "This program emphasizes that ninety percent of anti-victimization and self defense is about awareness, risk reduction and avoiding confrontation and only ten percent is physical," Elliott said. The presenters of the program, Larry Elliott and Paul Schmitz, have degrees in criminal justice and offer a unique perspective on safety by sharing their years of experience dealing with the "criminal mind" as probation and parole officers. They are engaging and consistently "connect" with their audience.

Examples of organizations that should assist their employees with crime awareness and safety seminars are health care entities, social workers, attorney firms, hotels, real estate agents, stock brokerage firms, media groups, schools and any retail establishment that is visited by customers. Again, the most dangerous attitude any of us can have is "it won't happen o me".

In today's volatile society, making safety classes a mandatory part of continuing education, EAP programs, corporate meetings, lunch and learn education or new hire training, is important for the betterment of the organization that is providing the training and the overall well being of its employee base.

Okay. You want to make money online. You have a product or service you really like, a brand new website from which to sell it, and all the motivation in the world to launch your new business venture. How do you go about finding people to sell to, to really make money online? Today's interactive web environment has dramatically changed the way people experience the internet, a fact the prudent online business owner should always keep foremost in mind. Unlike yesteryear, when most people in the market for a product or service either physically showed up at the brick and mortar store or reviewed print ads, television ads, or hard copy catalogues prior to shopping, today people start shopping or doing their due diligence with the click of a mouse button.

A potential buyer's typical first step is to "Google" the product or service desired (or use whatever search engine they favor) and begin comparing what is out there. Who sells for less? Is the store convenient or should I order online? Does the store have it in stock? They can even see what other items are popular with people who have purchased the same item they are looking for.

What to do when information about different products and vendors is available without the potential customer even having to interact with your company directly? If your website is not appearing in the search engine being used, typically on the first one or two pages of search results, then you aren't going to be competitive.

The problem? By the time they may eventually reach you, they are much farther along in the sales process than before, but you know next to nothing about them. In order to succeed online, a business, regardless of what products or services it provides, needs to:

  • Drive quality visitors to its site (that search engine ranking helps!)
  • Capture these visitors as leads (web page design and compelling message)
  • Convert the leads into customers (again, design and message. If no initial buy, follow up)
  • Continually analyze all site activity to evaluate what marketing is working, and what is not (example - use Google Analytics, a free service)

Luckily, just as consumers now have impressive tools to shop and compare with, the same search engines give businesses the opportunity to reach out to customers effectively and potentially in-expensively with targeted messages that customers are actually looking for. The traditional sales funnel no longer applies; it has evolved to consist of the following elements:

  • Search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Pay per click (PPC) advertising
  • Social Networking (to include blogging, spinning off Social Bookmarking at sites like myspace.com and facebook.com, from which you can spin off "buzz" marketing)
  • Targeted landing pages (AKA "splash" pages, "capture" pages, "squeeze" pages)
  • Site activity analytics and customer conversion tools

If your volume of business is not what you would like it to be, odds are you are either not incorporating some or all of these elements in your business model at all, or they have been incorporated ineffectively and should be reviewed.

To make money online, it all begins with getting the customer to your site. In future articles we will discuss the relative merits and pitfalls of both search engine optimization, to get search engine "spiders" to rank your site high; and pay per click advertising, to catch the customers eye via paid listings. If you want to make money online, stay tuned. More to follow.

If you take a long and hard look around the internet you will see that most of the people who are successful are those with a lot of experience in their field or someone who just got extremely lucky by producing a floating light bulb at the right place and at the right time. If you want to succeed in this business then you are going to need some internet marketing experience, but who says that you need to learn from your own mistakes, when you can just learn from the mistakes of others?

With the Internet Marketing Niche's growing popularity there is enough information scattered over thousands of pages that are at your fingertips. One of the key mistakes that new webmasters/internet marketers will make is that they research all the things that they "should" do to be successful online but they forget to look at what they "shouldn't" do!

If you look through all the top "Make Money Online Blogs" you will find that they all fall under two categories. The first category is the one where the webmaster appears to be successful (whether he is or not) and the second one is where the webmaster isn't successful and wants to be. If you take that information and look a little bit closer you will find that nine times out of ten the first category is where are the top sites are located. The reason is because they are aimed at those who want to learn about Internet Marketing or areas surrounding it and they don't want to learn from someone who knows nothing about it. They want information from somebody who has experience, knowledge and primarily; success! Would you take marriage advice from somebody who has been divorced 3 times? The answer is probably "No, of course not." So if you are thinking about making money in this niche then you have to at least appear to be an authority on the topic!

Because you may be new to Internet Marketing you may be prone to make a lot of beginner's mistakes. If you want to avoid making them and lose some credibility then you should do a little bit of research about things you shouldn't do on your website. I know that at first it may be difficult, but with a few simple words in the Google search box you could be moments away from knowledge that could save you and your website embarrassment. You could just type something as simple as "internet marketing newbie mistakes" in the search field which will provide you with many pages of useful information!

A more advanced way to learn from the mistakes of other marketers is to take notice of any negative relationships. If a certain blogger is posting remarks to make another blogger look bad it is probably because he/she did something wrong (bad enough to warn others about). Read up on what bloggers are saying about each other and you could find yourself avoiding a lot of controversy.

One final thing you should do before taking any action is to ask other marketers if what you plan to do is a good idea. One way to make sure that your website is ready to be viewed by surfers is to get it reviewed by an experienced webmaster before you officially launch it.

I have over a dozen blogs that I personally read as often as I have the chance. The reason is because they provide me with good information that I can either use for myself, share with my readers or at least try to see the value in it. They also provide me with the latest news within the niche, so if someone has an unsuccessful product launch because of a silly mistake.. I can read about it and avoid making the same mistake myself.

"Learn from other's mistakes.. you don't live long enough to make them all yourself!"
